Forged
Notes: Paschini argued that this forgery should be dated to 896-905, the period that saw the growth of Berengar's political and military influence up to the river Adda and his coronation as king of Italy. The motivation for the forgery may be ascribed to Berengar himself in seeking to strengthen the relationship between the "marca" of Friuli, his traditional powerbase, and the monastery of San Salvatore; see Arnaldi (1963).
Dating Information: Dated using the Desiderius, Adelchis & Indiction dating systems as 13 October 772.
